As we move closer to Christmas, we are starting to prepare by purchasing presents and decorating our homes. Christmas is such a precious day, people get to spend time with the ones that they love. But what a lot of people also look ahead too is observation of the Christmas day episodes of the soaps. All the television soaps go head to head with one another to attract viewers. You can always guarantee that there is going to be something tragic happening in a Christmas episode, whether it be a tragic wedding or funeral. So let us take a quick look at some of the more shocking storylines.

Stacey and Max Eastenders

Well this was the culmination that viewers were ready and waiting for months. The max and Stacey storyline dragged on for months, but the Christmas episode did not fail to deliver, you could literally hear a pin drop when the max and Stacey video was played.

Richard and Emily Coronation Street

Who can blank out when cunning dicky was part of the Street. The Christmas storyline evolved around Mr Hillman trying to kill Emily Bishop to try and get hold of her house, but he was stopped when Rita walked into the room.

Martin and Jamie Eastenders

Again another dramatic Eastenders episode, where Martin run down Jamie Mitchell on Christmas eve who then ended up passing away.

Kat and Alfie Wedding

The couple were probably one of the most love characters to date. Their wedding which aired on Christmas day pulled in millions of viewers. If I also recollect correctly it was in all probability one of the happIest endings that I have ever seen in Eastenders.

So what weddings and action can we expect this Christmas? Only time can tell, but I can guarantee they will be just as good.
