Cartoon Vans (Part 2)
So continuing the list of the famous cartoon characters that have either driven, ridden or been hit by a van are the next few toons that have made a big impact on the world over the last few years.
All of these cartoons are very competitive on the viewings and the ratings, which one do you prefer watching. Although these toons to not use the van very often when they do include them they are made out to be amusing.
The Anchor Van- Simpsons
Kent Brockman is the guy with the job of having to sit in this van while it goes around to the spots in which the news needs to be reported. Although he doesn’t actually drive the van he has a lot to do with it as the guys in the back are the ones providing him with all of the quirky comments that he apparently comes up with himself.
Surveillance Van- Family Guy
This has actually only featured in one episode of the popular show and is used to listen in on the conversation that Lois is having with an ex boyfriend. Peter is of course thinking that Lois is having an afair with her ex when in reality she has just gone to the local coffee shop for a drink. Peter joins the conversation half way through and catches something that sounds bad when of course it really isn’t.
Ice-Cream Van- South Park
This program has gone on for a very lon period of time so many vans have featured within it, this has to be the one that appears the most. The van has only ever appeared in one episode and in the episode did not manage to serve ice-cream but to kill Kenny.
There it is, the best cartoons vans that have ever come into existance. Let us just hope that these toons looked into commercial contract hire for their vans to save a bit of money. Van contract hire could actually be a better way to use a van as it is a lot cheaper than buying one outright.
Cartoons And Their Vans (Part 1)
There are actually quite a few cartoons out there that feature cartoon characters that drive, own or have something to do with a van and many of them are tuned in by millions a day. Some of these are made for the smaller generations and some of these havent seen any real success in the cartoon world in a lomg while. Here are the ones that came into my head first.
The Infamous Mystery Machine
If there was a top trumps game based on cartoon vans then this card would beat all of them hands down. In terms of putting a van inside a cartoon this is the one that really kicked it off. 1969 is the year in which Scooby Doo was first aired making it a whopping forty years old this year! The show is of course still running and apprently the need for teenage mystery solving gangs has not fallen at all in the forty years. It is pressumed that they always use someone in disguise instead of a real monster so that younger kids are not scared. I wonder if they have that van on Van Leasing
Postman Pat’s Van
This is more of a stop-motion feature than a cartoon but it has to be mentioned as it is certainly the most famous van to be made by somebody here in Britain It was first screened in 1981 and a newer series was made for 2006. This show was aimed mainly at the younger age group and both me and all of my friends were big fans when we were younger. The brilliant thing about Postman Pat is that he is the only Postman able to deliver the post on time!
Cheap Van Leasing has got to be something that these toons held in their minds when getting these vans.
Which has the best van in the popular South Park, Family Guy and South Park series, read part two to find out. Small van leasing is key for the next part.
