The Home Computer is the Wonderful Future of Television
It’s inevitable. The entrenched order will soon lose its stranglehold on television. We are facing a new technological paradigm in the dissemination of content. While change can be frightening, this is an awesome advancement for the consumer.
The media center PC concept enables you to integrate computer technology with the uses of your typical home entertainment system. This permits you to watch television content on your computer. The broad range of available content on the internet makes for an immensely superior experience to the standard home theater setup.
A tuner card can be employed to send traditional television signals into your computer environment. It will permit you to record TV episodes and burn them to DVD. Many newer video cards will let you export content from your PC to your TV. You can also integrate your music files and photos into your home theater system. The options are unlimited.
Some have theorized that online content will kill broadcast television. Why pay for cable television service when you could just as easily watch the same shows online for free on your schedule? A computer can be easily connected to your TV without significant technical expertise. This seems to render the normal cable box obsolete. Why watch your favorite shows on their schedule? Most television programs will soon offer the same content on websites, indeed, some of it is already available. This means that there is an overlap between TV and web content. If you connect a computer to your TV, you can watch a lot of the same content whenever you want. As bandwidth speeds increase, the picture quality will get better too. This will only make it simpler to see high quality internet content on your TV.
Since the majority of internet content is supported by advertisements, it makes a profit in a similar way to cable television. In the future, all content providers will be able to profitably offer their programs on-demand. This is a huge improvement over how we were required to get our television in the past.
This also empowers the independent content provider. You no longer need to be able to afford a expensive television station and pricey equipment in order to broadcast content. The internet provides a medium where the independent arts can thrive, and this new technology can bring the fruits of their labor to the home entertainment system. Competition in content makes for better overall quality.
The consumer really reaps the benefits from this explosion in new technology. The expense of a media center PC will continue to drop as newer devices come on to the market. The bandwidth capacity of our internet service providers will continue to increase over time as well. Wireless high-speed internet access will soon reach rural customers. As last mile technology grows, more consumers will join us in this technological revolution.
Do not fear this atmosphere of technological change. The computer is the key to the future of TV. We will soon be able to see whatever we want whenever we want to. Wireless technology will improve the communication between all of our household electronic devices. We are at the forefront of a serious paradigm shift in the way we consume entertainment.
Geek Choice is excited to provide informed perspectives on technological innovation. As a computer repair service provider, Geek Choice is committed to keeping at the forefront of technological trends.

The Best Way to Mount Your TV
The installation of a flat screen LCD TV can transform a dull living room into an impressive entertainment area. Previous experience in mounting a TV can certainly help however with a little planning, some TV brackets and the right tools you should be able to complete the task yourself with relative ease.
The first step is to decide where you want to put it.Place it on the wall which will give you the best viewing position, being careful that it doesnt reflect any light coming in from nearby windows.Make sure that you take into account the dimensions of the room as well as the overall size of your flat screen TV. Placing the TV above a fireplace is considered a popular option although logistically this can be awkward due to wires running from the TV.
Once you have decided the best place for your TV you should use a tape measure and spirit level to centre the TV on the wall. The next task is to take the mounting bracket so that you can mark the general area where it should go. Also accurately mark the location of where the wall screws will go.
Next you should lay a soft cloth onto the floor and place your LCD TV onto it with the reverse side facing up.It is sensible to connect the cables to your TV whilst it is on the floor as the rear can be very awkward to access once it has been mounted onto the wall. Secure the mounting bars to the TV using the threaded holes on the TV and appropriately sized bolts. Don’t overtighten these bolts but do make sure that they are secure. Once this has been done you can mount the TV onto the wall bracket and it should be safe and secure. To be on the safe side you should get someone to help you with the lifting as these TVs can be quite heavy.

The most important to keep in mind when mounting your LCD TV is to pay attention the details. When choosing LCD TV brackets remember that a fixed mount is the easiest to install however if you need to add new devices you will need to remove the television every time you want to plug in a new device.A tilted TV mount will make it much easier to add devices and will also add more depth.
Start by deciding where on your wall you wish to position your LCD TV and then measure the distance between the screw goles vertically on the mount. You should then mark out the location of the studs with a sharp pencil. The height at which you position your mount is completely your decision. Most TV mounts are hung at eye level to the centre line however some prefer mounting a tilted mount slightly higher than eye level.
Next you should to mark the desired height of the wall bracket with another pencil mark so that you will know exactly where each screw will be positioned. It is essential that you use a spirit level at this stage so that you won’t be hanging the mount at an angle. As with any DIY job you should measure at least twice to ensure accuracy.
Drill the heavy gauge screws part of way into the wall. These kind of heavy duty screws will help to handle the weight of the mount as well as the LCD TV.Before you tighten up all the screws and hang the mount check once more that they are all perfectly level.
Don't hang your TV on the mount until you have plugged the cables in the TV.It's a sensible idea to have another person to help you hang it as they tend to be quite heavy. If your Television requires some more assembly before hanging then refer to the instructions that came with it.

Cable Television Versus Satellite TV – Which Is Better?
A free cable and satellite TV market allows competition between several service providers starting from the kind of packages they offer to their users. Among the constant elements present in the cable and satellite TV comparison, premium services are the most regularly counted, together with the type of room configuration system. Without cable, television would have looked different these days: at the beginning all those who couldn’t enjoy good signal from local affiliates subscribed to the cable network and thus made a difference in its influencing of the television landscape. Presently, cable systems have developed complex structures, as they face organization in business conglomerates and associations with satellite companies too. Click over here for extra info about watch tv online for free .
Cable and satellite TV prices vary according to the taxes the companies pay and the investments they have to make to modernize the networks. Thus, satellite options are more advantageous in terms of price because their taxes are not set by local governments and usually include less complex infrastructures. Cable networks on the other hand have millions of miles of underground cables that need to be converted to digital technologies, which will surely prove expensive. Therefore, the prices for cable services remain superior to those for satellite; yet the structure of the discounted packages influence the consumer’s choice too.
The number and type of channels remain similar with both cable and satellite TV companies, but each variant has its advantage and downside. Satellite options for instance allow the viewer the choice of programs through extensive feeds and optional packages: this means that an average user could dispose of about five hundred programs at will. Otherwise, cable networks remain the right choice for one who doesn’t need such a huge number of channels, but would rather pay for good network reception only. Local programming is thus the solution offered by cable companies as a counter offer to satellite. You will obtain extra worthwhile info on watch tv shows online here.
Different equipment is necessary for cable and satellite TV modes; with the cable, the TV set is all you need, while for the TV reception via satellite you’ll need a lot more for digital programming. A dish with a matching convertible, a compatible TV set and a remote control remain the basic items for satellite use, with the mention that satellite requires a continuous open view to the southern sky for signal reception.
If the climate specific to your area is not that friendly, you could get very little control over the reception and operation of the dish. You will get oodles of supplemental worthwhile information relating to watch live tv online here.
Shopping For Discount LCD TVS
Looking for that new TV set? You’re no doubt looking for a LCD (or liquid crystal display) TV, but know all too well that they can be very expensive, especially the high definition LCD models. This is true, but there are in fact discount LCD TVs out there to be found. Post holiday sales when retailers pull out all the stops price wise in a mad scramble to get customers into their shops can be an excellent time to find LCD TV sets at a bargain price.
Floor models are another good way to obtain discount LCD TVs from retailers; there is generally a deep discount on merchandise sold minus it’s original packaging. If you can do without that large box sitting around your living room, you’re in luck, as well as a little richer than you’d be with a “brand new” model.
If you are not intent upon having the latest model you may be able find a few discount LCD TV’s. Last year’s model may have all the same features but have a slightly different look. Read all the specs carefully to be sure you are getting everything you want out of the discount LCD TV’s. Do you want “high definition” or “enhanced definition?”
So now that you have a few tips on where, when and how to look for a bargain on a LCD TV, what model should you be looking for? That all depends – the best LCD TV for you may not be exactly what someone else wants from their set. Think about your needs and wants before you go shopping for that LCD set.
Here are a few general rules of thumb to keep in mind when looking for that perfect TV set. If you play a lot of computer games or would like the option of using your television as a monitor for your computer, you’ll want a model with an input for that; the best HDTV models will have these and are excellent at displaying images and data from computer input sources. Other than that feature, the top concern for most is color accuracy and contrast. Inferior models tend to have lower accuracy and less contrast, while the better ones will have greater levels of both. The best way to evaluate this is to look closely at several different LCD TVs and compare the darkness of dark colors, especially blacks on each. The darker they are able to render black, the better the color accuracy and contrast.
The future of television is most certainly HD TV and LCD TV’s. One of the nicest feature is size. Even though they have larger screens than the old console TV’s of the past they are more portable. The flat screen panel can be easily mounted on a wall, eliminating the need for a large TV storage unit. The flat screen can also sit conveniently on top of most dressers or bookshelves or credenzas.
Your Child is Being Corrupted by Spongebob Squarepants!
It’s been a long time since we first met Spongebob Squarepants in 1999, though there doesn’t seem to be much talk about the awful things he continues to do to our poor little childrens’ minds on a daily basis.
Where are the throngs of protesters chanting catchy slogans? Where is the Senatorial debate? Why do we not see masses of protestors with signs and torches when we need them to come to our aid?
Spongebob is a sea sponge that lives in a pineapple at the bottom of the ocean in a town called “Bikini Bottom”.
It is easy to point out many different things that are wrong with this one sentence that really should cause you to think about what Spongebob is teaching children!
- Spongebob looks like a yellow kitchen sponge and not a sea sponge at all, though both his parents do look much more like sea sponges
- He lives in a pineapple that never biodegrades
- The towns’ name is a sexual innuendo
- Bikini Bottom is also a reference to Bikini Atoll, an area devastated by the USA in the 1940s and 50s by nuclear weapons testing
With that one simple sentence about the show we have already come across some major issues, and yet nobody says a word and we continue to allow our children to watch. With every single episode that you watch, you will notice more and more things in the show that could be damaging to your childs developing mind.
The characters routinely use fire underwater, such as campfires.
Many characters head down to the "Goo Lagoon" beach for swimming and sunbathing… underwater. One of the fish on the show named "Scooter" drowned at "Goo Lagoon" because after being buried in the sand up to his neck, he was left there as the "high tide" came in and nobody dug him out! (Spongebob Season 2: Episode Name: Bubble Buddy)
Scooter does return in later episodes, alive.
The various fish-based characters drive boats as cars and ride bicycles with multiple rotating paddles as wheels.
Spongebobs’ neighbor is “Squidward Tentacles” the octopus… though he has 6 tentacles instead of the correct number of either 8 for an octopus or 10 for a squid. Squidward the octopus likes to play his clarinet… underwater.
“Mr. Krabs” is a crab that owns the “Krusty Krab” restaurant, and he has a daughter named “Pearl”… that is a Sperm Whale.
Across the street from the Krusty Krab is the “Chum Bucket” restaurant owned by “Sheldon J. Plankton” whom everyone refers to as just “Plankton”. Plankton is in fact not “planktonic” (drifting in sea waters), but is “benthic” (living on the ocean floor), and is married to…. a computer named “Karen”, whom in the Spongebob movie states that she never agreed to marry Plankton.
And now we find that he has gone from just your TV to invade our real world.
I live with my wife and our two children in a suburb of St. Paul MN, and we sometimes go to Mall of America in Bloomington, MN. On several occasions we have taken our children to what was once "Camp Snoopy" but is now "Nickelodeon Universe" where you will find many references to Spongebob throughout the park. On occasion they even have a person dressed as Spongebob walking around greeting children, and they can also have their photo taken with him.
What more proof do we need that Spongebob is a conspiracy to brainwash our children and make them think that all the anomalies I pointed out above are to be considered “normal” or “acceptable”?
Do we really only care about being spoon fed mindless entertainment each day from the moment we wake? We are being trained that we don't have to think for ourselves or wonder about what might really be the important goings-on in the world; and instead we should just sit back, watch "American Idol" and consume, obey and reproduce.
I took a quick break from my camera repair work and just finished watching my Spongebob Season 3 box set, and will purchase season 4, 5, 6 etc. shortly… for research purposes only I assure you. Once I have watched them all I will publish the results of my study… a few times… with my kids by my side because they love that sponge and we watch the show daily.
I wonder when the new Spongebob movie is coming out? I can’t wait to see it!
