Matthew Morrison Makes a Name for Himself

Who is Matthew Morrison?

Golden Globe nominations for 2010 have been announced, and there are a few unfamiliar names among them. How about Matthew Morrison, for instance. “Glee” fans, no doubt, would recognize the name Will Schuester, the teacher responsible for William McKinley High’s glee club.

Matthew Morrison is the actor who plays Will, and Broadway aficionados probably recognize his name. He had some small bits in other tv shows and some movies, but Will Schuester is the first recurring role he’s had on TV since he was Adam Munson on “As the World Turns.”

A word from Matthew Morrison

While you can get instant approval for online payday loans nowadays, Matthew Morrison traveled a lengthy road to stardom. Besides being in several Off-Broadway productions before getting roles on Broadway, he went through 10 years of bit parts on TV and film before landing the role of Will Schuester.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Matthew Morrison said “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy had sent him a text message that said “You realize you’re a huge star now, right?” Morrison said he hadn’t really processed it yet.

Another “Glee” nominee

Matthew Morrison was nominated for Best Actor in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical, and the female lead on “Glee” was nominated for the actress equivalent. Lea Michele got a nomination for Best Actress as Rachel, the undisputed star of the glee club. Lea Michele is the only relative unknown nominee in a sea of well-known actresses. The other women up for the same Golden Globe Lea Michele was nominated for are Tina Fey, Edie Falco, Courtney Cox and Toni Colette.

He role in “Glee” marks Lea Michele’s debut in American television, and she’s made quite the splash. Since securing her role on “Glee,” aside from getting the Golden Globe nomination, she has appeared on “The Tyra Banks Show,” “Rachael Ray,” “Late Show with David Letterman” and “Entertainment Tonight.”

How to Look Hot at 62: Susan Sarandon’s Golden Globes Pearls

Watch Susan Sarandon on the Red Carpet at the Golden Globes

All eyes were on the red capet at the Golden Globes last night after being cancelled the year before. To many, the question of who was wearing what was just as interesting as the award ceremony itself. If you looked past the glitzy gowns and shining sapphires, you might have noticed, as I did, the timeless elegance of Susan Sarandon, who had donned with pride a Fred Leighton exclusive long pearl necklace. At one point Sarandon actually begged the powers that be that gave her the necklace to wear if she could keep it.I don’t blame her! The necklace was a subtle mix of modern style and classic sophisitication.

But does the fact that Susan Sarandon, aged 62, was one of the only A-listers adorned with pearls on the night mean we are going back to the stereotype of pearls only being worn by old dears?Absolutely not! Pearl jewellery has a timeless elegance and charm if you know how to wear it. The key to looking stylish with pearls is don’t settle for ubiquitous lesser stones! You can get pearls on the cheap, especially the abundance of fake and low grade stones on the internet these days, but they rarely have the style of the real deal.  If you’re on a budget, go for natural freshwater pearls which can be beautiful.  But for the true celeb treatment you should spend that little extra on saltwater pearls, the choice of Susan Sarandon on Sunday night.
