Matthew Morrison Makes a Name for Himself

Who is Matthew Morrison?

Golden Globe nominations for 2010 have been announced, and there are a few unfamiliar names among them. How about Matthew Morrison, for instance. “Glee” fans, no doubt, would recognize the name Will Schuester, the teacher responsible for William McKinley High’s glee club.

Matthew Morrison is the actor who plays Will, and Broadway aficionados probably recognize his name. He had some small bits in other tv shows and some movies, but Will Schuester is the first recurring role he’s had on TV since he was Adam Munson on “As the World Turns.”

A word from Matthew Morrison

While you can get instant approval for online payday loans nowadays, Matthew Morrison traveled a lengthy road to stardom. Besides being in several Off-Broadway productions before getting roles on Broadway, he went through 10 years of bit parts on TV and film before landing the role of Will Schuester.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Matthew Morrison said “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy had sent him a text message that said “You realize you’re a huge star now, right?” Morrison said he hadn’t really processed it yet.

Another “Glee” nominee

Matthew Morrison was nominated for Best Actor in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical, and the female lead on “Glee” was nominated for the actress equivalent. Lea Michele got a nomination for Best Actress as Rachel, the undisputed star of the glee club. Lea Michele is the only relative unknown nominee in a sea of well-known actresses. The other women up for the same Golden Globe Lea Michele was nominated for are Tina Fey, Edie Falco, Courtney Cox and Toni Colette.

He role in “Glee” marks Lea Michele’s debut in American television, and she’s made quite the splash. Since securing her role on “Glee,” aside from getting the Golden Globe nomination, she has appeared on “The Tyra Banks Show,” “Rachael Ray,” “Late Show with David Letterman” and “Entertainment Tonight.”

Thanksgiving Day TV | Not Everyone Loves Football

A Gleeful Thanksgiving Eve

For those of you who are wondering what to expect regarding your regularly scheduled television programming over Thanksgiving, I have checked out the schedule for the unofficial list of the most popular shows. Those of you who love singing high school students as much as I do will be glad to know that “Glee” will be on during its regular time Wednesday on Fox. I’d gladly give the makers of Glee free no faxing payday loans to keep that show on the air forever.

So that’s the good news. That said, my other Wednesday night favorite, “Top Chef” will sadly only serve leftovers – reruns, that is. Part 1 of the finale will be next week. If you like “The Biggest Loser,” NBC is airing a two hour “Where Are They Now?” episode Wednesday. ABC will air its regular comedy lineup, “The Middle,” “Modern Family” and “Cougar Town.” CBS programming is normal for Wednesday.

Turkey Day TV

Of course, what we are all really burning to know is what we will watch Thursday night after we wake up from our turkey-induced naps or settle our stretchy-pants clad behinds onto the couch. However, we are all pretty much out of luck when it comes to regular programming. Why do TV people think they should get to have vacations?

Of course, my favorite show on Thrusday, “Project Runway” has already come to the end of the season. I usually watch the Thursday night lineup on NBC as well, but on Thanksgiving during Primetime NBC is airing a rerun of “The Office,” (at least it’s a good one: Pam and Jim’s wedding) and then a special, “NBC’s People of the Year.” Sounds exciting.

Here’s to tradition

So, you must be wondering who will play the classic Thanksgiving film, “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.” That would be ABC, starting at 8 p.m. After that is something about Beyonce. Yeah, that’s exactly what I want to see when I’m stuffed to the gills with gravy and pie.

“Survivor: First 27 Days,” “The Mentalist” and “CSI” will air on CBS. I have no idea if these are reruns. Sorry. In further apology-related news, Fox will be playing a movie: “Night at the Museum.” You know, that movie starring Ben Stiller that’s about exactly what the title says. I haven’t seen it; I don’t think I will, either. The bulk of critics on Rotten Tomatoes have decried the film as an ugly and embarrassing travesty. You might want to plan ahead if you want to veg out in front of the small screen Thursday night and head to the video rental store now.

Thanksgiving Theater

If you are early dinner eaters and have managed to recover from your food comas before bed time, perhaps you can head out to catch a flick. Two movies release on Wednesday, “Old Dogs” and “Ninja Assassin.” The first one, “Old Dogs” is by the same people who made “Wild Hogs,” and it rhymes AND stars John Travolta and is about mid-life crises. So far, all of the critics at Rotten Tomatoes hate it.

“Ninja Assassin” has a few good reviews, but most critics are not into this film about child ninja orphans. Most say it’s boring and bloody. The Arizona Republic had this to say, “This movie may be filled with razor-sharp shuriken and katanas, but as far as the filmmaking goes, it’s a blunt instrument.”

Your best bet might be “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” which is expanding Wednesday. It has gotten great reviews, and it was directed by the sublime genius auteur Wes Anderson, based on the book by Roald Dahl.
