There Seem To Be Several Reasons For Police Wearing Glasses

How The Police Should Behave

Quite often you will see the police wearing their police sunglasses but why on earth do they do this? Is it to protect their eyes from the sun, look cool, or just because they can? Well it is actually a combination of the three.

Sunlight

The police still do patrol the streets on foot and wearing sunglasses can help them on those long summer days as the sun can damage the eyes when you are out in it for too long. It is actually recommended that police officers wear sunglasses on days like this and it can be especially as important for a police cyclist. Because these police officers are actually exposed to th sun when they are riding around it enables them to see the road.

Expressions- I don’t think so

A lot of cops will put on sunglasses when they are about to interview someone not only to hide their identity but to hide their expressions. Many top criminals are very clever and they can play off the expressions the police officers are giving them. Sometimes it is is very useful for the cops to wear reflective sunglasses as the criminal can only see their own faces.

Bad Ass

Lets be honest, you are more likely to run scared from a cop wearing reflective sunglasses than someone who is not. Terminator 2 is actually a prime example of how good sunglasses can look on a cop, without them he looked awful!

If you don’t believe me then it is well worth checking out some of the films with those awesome police glasses in and get yourself a pair of d&g designer sunglasses.

Of course there are many times in which the police wear these glasses because they have too but I am sure there are also many other times when they do it because they can. We would of course do it too.

3D Technology

3D seems to be getting more popular again and you can see it in the cinema as major releases are also released in 3D? Well as many people will know, channel 4 have recently had a presentation on their channel featuring loads of 3D things which actually seemed to gain a lot of interest from people.

However has the time come where we are going to be replacing cheap glasses and cheap designer sunglasses with brand new 3-D glasses, after all they are very difficult to use if you already have poor vision.

I personally think that because they are going to be bringing out these 3-D televisions that it has to all kick off. Although 3D is pretty cool there are actually many issues with it.

Although companies are deneying it causes health problems it seems to give people headaches which is not a good sign. For one there are many movies out there that claim to be in 3-D that actually end up giving you quite a bad headache.

A lot of the theme parks have had 3D and even 4D attractions for years so it was only a matter of time before it kicked off. The theme park that has optimised on this perfectly has to be Disney World in Florida as they have a ride not just a show that features 3D shootinfg. They had really put a lot of time and effort into this ride choosing the best 3D technology for it.

So although I do not think 3-D will takeover from designer glasses frames with the new televisions on the way it is sure to make an impact.

When it comes to 3D technology you are either really going to get into it or not be interested at all. It is wondered how the various computer games that are set to be released are going to manage to allow you to play them for 8 hours straight without getting a headache.

Part 2 of Cartoons That Love Glasses

A couple more toons thrown out there that love to wear thier glasses. Although some of these are still considered to be a bit geeky, some are considered cool and respectable cartoons. Some of these would most defiantly be seen walking the streets in cheap designer sunglasses and even perhaps in rayban sunglasses ray bans.

Loves his spiders- Peter Parker

Many people will be aware that Parker created Spiderman and of course is spiderman Peter Parker The scientist Peter Parker He starts off as an orphaned science whiz (a bit of a geek really) who lives with his aunt and uncle in New York City Although the movies show something a bit different to the comics he is actually bitten whilst at a science conference. Spiderman was actually a television star in the early years but he made a mistake of being too up himself which actually cost his uncles life which is why he turned into the better hero and vigilante. As soon as he is bitten he immediately has no need for glasses in anyway at all.

Clark Kent

This time it really is a bit different. Clark kent is invented as cover for him when he is living is everyday life, he doesnt want to be bothered all of the time which is fair enough .The glasses here seem to be used to make Clark a bit more like a normal man and it seems to work very well with his suit, tie and briefcase look. Superman actually works at the Daily Planet where he can have his excuses for being at all of the nasty crime scenese.

So there you have it really, only a few of the characters that wear glasses. Others include Arthur, Chicken Little and Simon from the Chipmunks and although you may not see them wearing Wayfarer sunglasses you never know really do you?

The Best Sunglasses In Movies

There are so many reasons why people buy black sunglasses but it would seem that they get the ideas from all of the movies that show them off as looking very cool sunglasses. Here are just some of the most famous movies in which sunglasses actually played a vital part in the movie itself.

Terminator

Of course everyone knows that in these films Arnie is always seen to be wearing black sunglasses. Without these sunglasses the terminator would look like a normal guy, who out there wears sunglasses at night. Whenever the glasses get taken away from the Terminator then you know that trouble is about to hit, he also doesnt like it at all.

The Matrix Movies

The great thing about the Matrix is that each character of the film wears a slightly different pair of sunglasses. Another great thing is that they can only wear these sunglasses in the Matrix so it just something that shows off Matrix comparison to the real world.

Another very important note is that both of these films as well as many others love to put the villains in different kinds of glasses ro the heroes to really get out that message.

Wanted and Blade are just some of the other films out there where the main people from the movie where sunglasses. In Men in Black, sunglasses are used to actually protect them from the memory wiping device that they carry around with them.

If you look into these films you will notice that they all involve shooting in some way or another meaning that the glasses are thrown in to make them look a bit more cool.

Although prescription sun glasses are not really deemed that cool they have been used in movie as well as aviator glasses.

Mad Mickey Should have Won the Oscar – Why Didn’t He?

Mickey Rourke at the Independent Spirit Awards

Another year, another Oscar ceremony. Most of the awards went according to plan. The British were the big winners on the night, with Slumdog Millionaire scooping, well, nearly everything, and Kate Winslett getting the Oscar at long last. The nights biggest shock, which frankly disappointed me, was that the crazy and unpredictable Mickey Rourke didn’t add to his Golden Globes, BAFTA and Spirit triumphs as expected. But I for one was hoping that Mickey would get to spice up the night with another nutty acceptance speech.

Ultimately it was Sean Penn, not Rourke, who got the gong for his excellent performance as Harvey Milk. Look – I am not saying that Sean Penn wasn’t worthy of the accolade. On the contrary, Milk was a great film and Penn’s role will live long in the memory I suspect. The Academy Awards are so often full of contrived and rehearsed publicity stunts – am I alone in loving the madness that Rourke brings with him?

While the female stars on the red carpet can turn up in all kinds of jaw dropping outfits, with men it’s usually the same old black tuxedo for everyone.  Mickey Rourke, on the other hand, turned up in a messy looking white suit. Of course he also wore his trademark designer sunglasses which have become part of his image in the awards season. The silliest part was the amount of times he mentioned his dead pooch Loki, who passed away recently and whose image Rourke displayed on his necklace in tribute!

The signs were pointing to Mickey making us chuckle yet again with a downright baffling onstage speech if he had won.  Who knows what he would have come out with on the stage, chihuahua memorial necklace, glasses and all? I’ll never forget his previous antics at the golden globes. And more recently he brought the house down at the independent Spirit awards the night before the Oscars – see the video above.

I suspect there was more than a little politics involved in denying Rourke the Oscar. Mickey himself had predicted he woudldn’t win because he’s pissed off too many hollywood hotshots in the past. “I stupidly said acting wasn’t a job for a real man. I threatened producers, raged at directors, forgot my agent’s name. I really burned my bridges. And a lot of people have long memories,” Mickey predicted on the Friday before the ceremony.

Sean Penn does deserve bonus points – he’s never a dull guy and his acceptance speech was interesting to say the least. He started out by saying thank you to “you commie, homo loving sons of guns”! Penn then pulled out a small scribbled bit of paper, donned his prescription glasses, and after a few thank-yous proceeded with an impassioned plea for equal rights for gays and against the ban on gay marriages. OK, perhaps not quite as impressive as Crazy Mickey might have been, however a lot more interesting than the usual acceptance speech drivel.

Bring on the next chapter in the Rourke comeback saga!
