Cars That Are In Movies

There are so many different movies out there that involve many cars in them and some of them are great whilst others are really rather bad. These are just a few of the best that have come onto our screens in the past.

Bullitt

This has to be the best car movie ever made. The dodge charger finished in a sinister black is what does it for many people. The chase scene is the main aspect of the entire film and it is actually just under 10 minutes long and features the bad guy’s charger running straight into a fuel station and causing an almighty explosion. Steve McQueen acts the cool guy and acts like nothing has even happened and it is a combination of his acting and the chase scene that makes this film so damn good.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

A lot of people do not realise that this film was actually based on a book that was written by Ian Fleming and the script written by Roald Dahl so in theory how is it possible this film could ever have failed? Well of course this film was a great one and it has to be here because everyone has always wanted to have a flying car.

The Italian Job (1969)

This film has to be in here because of the Mini Cooper chase sequence which partly led the film to achieve something of a cult status even though Benny Hill was in the film. The famous phrase “You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off” has also become one of the most loved movie phrases of all time. It has to be said that the remake was very bad.

For a look at getting a real car why do you not consider getting lease purchase or even perhaps . For a specific manufacturer you can trust why not look into Mini contract hire.

Movies that were made on boars

There have been many; many films set on a cruise ship most of which not being filmed on one. here are just some of the ones that you should certainly watch before you go on a cruise luxury cruises

Titanic

This film is easily the most famous of all the films set on ships. A huge amount of money was made from this film, .8 Billion. 0 million is how much the film cost to make, which in turn made it the highest costing film for that time. The film is actually based around two fictional people. However a few characters in the film are based on the real life people.

The second speed film

It was given very poor reviews partly because of the fact many people didnt return to the sequel. Keanu Reeves didnt return to the film as he thought that the script was very poor. Dennis Hopper did also not want to return although it is unsure how they would have brought him back into it. It really shows as the majority of the film is very poor indeed. You have to watch this film because it has such a good ending.

The British made- Carry On Crusing

Of coure this is just one of many films in the Carry On franchise. This was the very first Carry On film to be filmed in colour. It is on the list simply because it is my favourite film in the entire series and needed to be here because the whole of the film is set on a cruise ship.

So whether you are on your way to one of those cunard cruises or even a Silversea cruises make sure you check out these films first. Thinking about it, these films all spell diaster for cruise ships but do not worry as they are just movies right?

Celebrities who might Tweet whilst driving

After reading a poll in which it was stated that 1 in 10 people risk their lives by tweeting in the car I thought it would be amusing to put together a list of famous fictional celebrities who might be one of these people that ilegally use Twitter when driving.

Dr. Emmet Brown

Emmet Brown from the Back to the Future trilogy is famous for inventing the time machine and using a DeLorean for it, he must have gone forward in time to get the technology he needed to be able to Tweet away. Why is he suspected of being one of these tweeters? The gull-wing doors fitted on the car of course.

Del Boy from Only Fools and Horses

This British chap has got to be a tweeter as he owns a Reliant Robin, always seen trying to rip a few people off (in a nice way) I am sure he has got his hands on at least one form of the iPhone, even if they are from Japan.

Caractacus Pott from the Disney classic Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

This crazy inventor must have been addicted to Twitter as he attached wings to the car itself that enabled it to fly. However flying around in a car is certainly not going to stop him from being pulled over!

If you were to actually sit in your car and use Twitter then the police would give you the same fines and take away the same points in the same way they do if you were texting or talking to someone over the phone. It is there to make sure that people concentrate on the road when driving, so next time you fancy logging onto Twitter of Facebook make sure you pull over first and then use your phone.

The law is the same for used cars for sale and yes it even applies if you own a Mercedes or of course Volkswagen so make sure that you just double check you are not tweeting, texting or taking a call when you are driving because if you are caught in can result in a big fine.

How to Watch Wolverine

At the time of writing this article Wolverine is still not available on DVD but you really should take a night out to watch Wolverine at the cinema. For the girls there is plenty of semi-clad Wolverine demonstrating his lovely buffed hairy torso on a BIG screen. Guys get to see lots of fighting action with the surround sound only a cinema can offer.

Watching it for the first time on the big screen really gives in the WOW factor. Sure there will be bits you will miss but when you Rent or Buy your Wolverine DVD later on you can fill in those blanks.

Shareholders Ask Disney Pixar To Make Films More Commercially Friendly

Traders in Wall Street have voiced their concerns over the commercial strength of Disney Pixar recently. Many quality films have come out of this company over the last couple of decades but there are lots of people that think they have lost their commercial edge these days.

The news follows the release of their last two films, WALL-E and Ratatouille, which have been the studio’s two worst performing productions. The problem is not that they are unable to make profits, just that there are other companies biting at their heals, including the growing monster that is Dreamworks.  Their new film ‘UP’ has recently been released and the criticisms of previous films have continued with this one.The general consensus is that there is a clear lack of characters that transfer as well into merchandise sales as some of their previous productions, e.g. Mickey Mouse or the productions of their competitors. Dreamworks have had a great run recently with films such as Shrek, Wallace and Grommit and their newest release Monsters VS Aliens. These movies feature talking creatures or animals that are endearing to children and also have clear marketable heroes and villains. Toys, books,  DVD’s, clothes even more obscure products such as dolls houses, all go towards making up the films overall profits. The ability to push these products is what pixar have been failing to do as of late and this is arguable down to their choices of story and characters.

The counter argument to this has been that Pixar are more interested in creating worthwhile and high quality films than selling pointless toys from their productions. They would rather be able to promote the buying of educational toys rather than cheap tacky stuff. There is however the ever present pressure being put on the company by shareholders and associated businesses to raise profits year on year.Pali Research’s Richard Greenfield has downgraded the shares of Disney to sell this month just gone, stating that a predicted high risk of commercial failure is the reason.
