Welcome to this short article outlining the recently discovered Lion King subliminal messages. We are going to discuss the mass placement of subliminal messages within the popular Disney movie – the Lion King.

The best example is from the scene aprox half way through the movie where the stars in the sky start to swirl and form an outline of Simba’s father. During this formation the stars briefly align to form the word “Sex” in the night sky.

The official Walt Disney response was to completely deny the use of subliminal placement within the Lion King. As always (you better believe that this isn’t the first time Disney have used subliminal messages!) Disney claim it was not done on purpose, that it was just coincidental.

You might be inclined to believe that if it wasn’t for the 100s of other subliminal messages in disney movies across their range of animations, and movies.

The “Sex” message in the sky is the only suggestion the average person is aware of. But, this word keeps on popping up at various scenes in the background of the movie.

You can see them, spelled out by trees and leaves in the jungle, by blades of grass in the fields, and by rocks on the cliff faces – once you start looking the suggestions seem to be everywhere, practically in all of the scenes.

When you see these multiple messages it all seems a bit more plausible that Disney may using hidden messages in their movies. The question we can not answer though is why they do it? It could well be just for amusement / a way to make their mark on the movie, or maybe a ploy to try to get people to remember the movie better.

Sadly many of these messages have been edited out for newer DVD re-releases, so you can only see them on the original VHS editions – get yours out and watch closely and let us know if you find any more

Every new fan of Dr Who has to have a Dr Who sonic screwdriver!My son can do anything with his, it not just opens doors, it cools his supper, helps him tidy away the toys, anything you can think off, his Dr Who sonic screwdriver can do it (or help him do it)!  Having looked into the history of the sonic screwdriver, I think he may have the right idea…

The Dr Who sonic screwdriver first appeared on our screens in 1968.Since then it has been in and out of fashion and changed design a few times.  One of the Doctors assistants, Romana, even made her own sonic screwdriver, while the doctor gave Sarah Jane Smith a sonic lipstick, so there are defiantly variations to the design.

The latest Dr Who sonic screwdriver is rather a good one.  It glows blue at the end and makes a humming noise.  The capabilities of the sonic screwdriver are also enhanced and it is used by the Doctor for all sorts of new things.  The sonic does have its limitations, in an encounter with the Slitheen the Doctor tries to suggest that he will use his sonic screwdriver to convert a bottle of port into a weapon.  The Slitheen realize that this is not within the capabilities of either the Doctor or his trusty sonic screwdriver and the Doctor suggests an alternative route – “Run”.  In the episode ‘The Doctor Dances’, Captain Jack makes fun of the Doctors sonic screwdriver and tries to impress Rose with his sonic blaster.

The Master does get the icing on the cake, however, when he arrives with a laser screwdriver.  The laser screwdriver has an altogether different function to the sonic screwdriver.  The Dr Who sonic screwdriver is not a weapon, the Doctor tells us in Doomsday that the sonic screwdriver will not kill, wound or maim.  It is a tool which the doctor uses to his advantage.  The Master, however, has a different agenda, his laser screwdriver is designed to kill and also to age the Doctor, using the Lazarus technology.

We also discover that a new sonic screwdriver can be replaced by the TARDIS, but for those of us who do not have access to a TARDIS, Character toys make a good substitute.  The Dr Who sonic screwdriver comes in two basic designs, either a pen or torch design.  Which ever you choose you can be sure that any child will reveal the depths of their imagination when they tell you all the things which their sonic screwdriver can do!

Requiem For a Dream  is a 1978 novel and film released in the year 2000.  A man named Selby wrote the novel, while Darren Aronofky directed the movie.  It won an Academy award for best actress for Ellen Burstyn.  This article details both the movie and the novel.

Since the novel came first it comes first here too.  Four people feature prominently.  The group is Harry, Marion, Tyrone and Sara.  Harry and Marion date.  Tyrone is friends with both of them.  Sara is Harry’s mother.  Their dreams dominate their lives.  Each one turns to drugs in some way to try to achieve their dream, which ends badly.  Sara wants to appear on Television.  She turns to diet pills after she thinks a casting company has told her she has a chance at stardom.  Eventually she ends up in the hospital.  The other three become heroin dealers.  But like many dealers they become users.  Everyone’s life is ruined.

In the movie mother and son, Sara and Harry, are the main characters along with Marion and Tyrone.  The plot follows the novel fairly closely.  True to the novel all the action takes place over the course of summer, fall and then winter.

Sara spends the summer watching infomercials.  She eats while she watches.  She realizes this makes her fat.  But her life gains new purpose when the producers of the infomercial call her to tell her she may be on the infomercial.  She thinks about wearing a red dress that used to fit her when Harry graduated.  She has to diet to do it.  When that doesn’t work she sees a doctor who prescribes amphetamines.  She soon becomes addicted.  She also starts grinding her teeth.

Harry and Tyrone become drug dealers.  They think they can some day buy and sell a pound of heroin which would make them wealthy.  Marion plans to use Harry’s money to purchase a store where she can sell her clothing designs.  Tyrone’s goal is to end his life of living on the street.

Sara’s addiction is even worse in the fall.  She increases the dose because it’s no longer helping her.  She hallucinates about appearing on the infomercial.  Harry and Tyrone run afoul of the police.  Most of the money they have earned in the summer is used for Tyrone’s bail.  Meanwhile their addiction to the heroin they’re supposed to sell grows.

The end of the movie is very sad.  Winter is the worst season for everyone in the movie.  Harry falls off a roof leaving him in a hospital,  Sara is institutionalized, Tyrone is once again arrested and jailed, and finally Marion can’t shake her own heroin addiction.  Only Harry, whose pain keeps him in the real world, doesn’t retreat into his own mind.

Requiem for a Dream is more of a nightmare for the characters in it.

A movie called Joe Dirt came out in 2001.  It stars David Spade, Dennis Miller, and Christopher Walken.  Spade plays the lead role.  It was written by David Spade.

Joe Dirt wasn’t loved by critics.  It has an average rating of three out of 10 and one of the well-known multiple review sites.  It received a thumbs down from Ebert.  They didn’t like anything about it.  But they thought Spade was OK.

Even though the critics didn’t like it in earned $27 million in the United States.  Joe Dirt made money.  It cost about half that.  It also made it to number one in New Zealand.  Some of the stars quipped that New Zealand was smaller than WalMart.  The movie is often discussed by Dennis Miller.  He and Spade have discussed it.

Joe Dirt works at a Los Angeles radio station as a low paid janitor.  A producer discovers Joe and his funny white trash habits.  He puts Joe with a disc jockey who interviews him on the air.  The focus of the movie is Joe’s story.

Joe Dirt tries to get the attention of Brandy.  Her dog dies, so Joe decides to look for his parents.  He travels the country.  He has some wacky adventures.  He meets some weird people.  To fund his travels he takes on part time jobs.  The last of these is his job in the boiler room of the radio station.

Joe Dirt finally decides to return to Brandy.  She knew all along that his parents were dead.  His search was useless.  

Joe Dirt doesn’t realize that the listeners love him.  He’s a celebrity.  His mother, supposedly, calls him.  But it’s just a trick.  She’s trying to sell figurines using his name.  She is his mother, but she’s only interested in money.

Then Joe Dirt tries to kill himself.  Someone ties him with a bungee cable to save his life.  But he hits his head on the way back up.  He later wakes up at Brandy’s house surrounded by many of the people he’s met on his journey.  He has finally found a family.  That’s not much of a plot.  That’s why critics didn’t like it.
